Setup takes about five minutes.

Set up your Mac

Turn on Screen Sharing: System Settings → General → Sharing → Screen Sharing.
Install Node 20+ and Tailscale, and sign in to Tailscale on both your Mac and your phone.
Download the Mac program and unzip it. In Terminal, go to the folder and run ./install.sh.
Open the address it prints, in the app or in Safari, and sign in.

The page won't load. The server may not be running. On the Mac, run launchctl list | grep macremote, or run ./install.sh again.
It loads but the screen won't connect. Screen Sharing may be off, or the Mac username or password is wrong.
The address won't open on your phone. Tailscale must be connected on both devices.
It shows Reconnecting for a long time. Fully close the app and reopen it. If it keeps happening, check that your Mac isn't asleep.
